Donathin Frye

When I was a kid, my grandmother took me to see The Legend of Sleepy Hollow live on stage. It scared the hell out of me, fascinated me. As I watched, trying not to blink, my heart pounding, I felt like I’d learned some secret truth; the Headless Horseman, the ghost, the killer, he was real. And I was hooked. Stories became my everything. I wrote poetry, imagined fantastic tales and weird worlds. Eventually, I studied theater at Penn State, and spent years performing and traveling across the country before I landed in Columbus. As much as I love theater, its intimacy and immediacy, I’ve always had a passion for exploring other collaborative ways to tell stories too.

Recently, I’ve been living in a haunted apartment in Columbus, Ohio and writing comic books. I’ve been lucky enough to get published and team up with amazing, diverse artists from all around the world. I'm the author of the dark fantasy series I, Necromancer, the upcoming Native American-centric urban fantasy graphic novel Rewind, and a number of one shot comics in print anthologies.

I'm also Staff Writer for StArt Faire Magazine, where I promote indie comics that I believe deserve more attention and publish articles about writing for comics. Through StArt Faire, I curated and organized the massively viewed 2016 Excellence in Webcomics Awards.

I am available for hire as a script writer, editor or letterer. PM me here for inquiries.
